Singleton Hospital Day Surgery Unit 18.6%
The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by the NHS Swansea Bay UHB in the Singleton Hospital Day Surgery Unit.
The hospital building, built in 2005 and housing two operating theatres and a 24-bed recovery suite, with pre-assessment facilities and staff support spaces, is heated by 3 x 105kW boilers via steel panel radiators.
EndoTherm was installed in January 2020.
Reducing space heating consumption in hospitals, especially in day surgery units, is a challenging task due to the need for maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for patients, the continuous operation of medical equipment, extended operating hours, complex building structures, and compliance with strict regulations.
EndoTherm was able to demonstrate significant space heating energy saving at Singleton Hospital Day Surgery Unit despite these constraints.
