University of St Andrew 14.9%

The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by the University of St Andrews in The Old Burgh School building in St Andrews.

The Old Burgh School is heated by two 95kW boilers via steel panel radiators.

EndoTherm was installed in April 2018.

Reducing space heating energy consumption in an old school building presents several challenges. Firstly, older buildings can have outdated insulation and inefficient heating systems, which result in significant heat loss. Secondly, old school buildings often have complex layouts with multiple rooms and floors, making it difficult to achieve consistent heating throughout the building. Balancing the heating needs of different areas and occupancy patterns can be challenging.

Regardless of these constraints EndoTherm demonstrated double digit space heating energy savings with no physical changes to the fabric or operation of the old school building.
